AOS ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION
Pre-registration for the 162nd Annual Meeting will open in February 2026 and will close in April 2026. Membership dues must be current in order to register.
SPOUSE / PERSONAL GUEST ATTENDANCE
AOS members are encouraged to register their spouse or personal guest for the Annual Meeting. Spouse/personal guest registration includes daily breakfast and coffee breaks, admission to the Thursday Reception Welcoming New Members, Friday Reception and Saturday Reception and Banquet. The AOS is planning a group activity for registered spouses and personal guests, and there will also be a special Spouse Lecturer in 2026. Members can register their guests online when completing their own registration.
PROFESSIONAL GUEST ATTENDANCE
Non-member ophthalmologists (including residents and fellows) are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting as a Professional Guest. Professional Guests must be sponsored by an AOS member who will also be in attendance. Potential candidates for AOS membership are particularly encouraged to attend.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstract submissions to present your research at the 162nd Annual Meeting will open in October 2025. We encourage all members to submit an abstract. Non-members may submit abstracts if there is an AOS member author listed.
PRESENTER INFORMATION
The AOS symposia and paper sessions will be archived and available on the AOS website after the meeting. All presenters are asked to use the AOS slide template for their presentations. Remember to include a financial disclosure slide at the beginning of your presentation.
Poster presentations will take place during the morning breaks on Friday and Saturday. Posters are left up throughout the meeting. Poster authors are assigned to one of the two poster sessions and are asked to stand near their poster to field questions and discuss their work.
HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION
The Annual Meeting is being held at La Fonda on the Plaza in historic Santa Fe, New Mexico. The AOS has secured a discounted room rate of $349 per night, plus taxes and fees. You will receive the link to book your room at the AOS discounted rate in the confirmation email after you register for the Annual Meeting (Registration opens in February 2026).

MEETING FORMAT
Programming will begin on Thursday, May 21. The meeting will conclude with the Saturday night Gala Dinner and the 2026 AOS Medal presentation.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM & SCHEDULE
Dr. M. Roy Wilson, Chair of the Committee on Programs, and Dr. David Wallace, Council Chair, have been hard at work planning exciting symposia for the 162nd meeting of this unique society. Paper abstracts will be presented on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with poster abstracts presented on Friday and Saturday.
AOS MEDAL
The AOS Medal will be presented on Saturday evening at the Gala Banquet. Please join us in congratulating this well-deserved honoree!

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
There will be a formal Thursday evening reception welcoming the new AOS members to the Society, as well as a fun Friday night reception. Continuing in 2026, we will be having a "Meet the Speakers" session on Friday and Saturday afternoon - be sure to stop by to connect with our invited speakers. Don't forget the Saturday night formal reception and banquet where the athletic awards and the prestigious AOS Medal Award are presented.
GALA RECEPTION AND DINNER / RESERVED SEATING - Saturday, May 23
Reservations for banquet seating are not required. If you do not reserve a table, no problem! The AOS staff will assign you a seat with fellow AOS members and guests.
If you do wish to reserve a table, you may do so after April 1, 2026 by sending your request to the AOS office. Please note that only tables of ten (10) can be reserved, and you may only reserve a table for attendees and guests that are registered for the meeting. Please, no exceptions. You may request a current list of registered members and guests from the AOS office beginning April 1.
Kindly confirm that each of your ten (10) table guests are registered for the meeting before requesting a table, and let them know you will be reserving a seat for them.
